THNFI plans and executes an annual community festival for the past 62 years held in Transcona on the first weekend of June. Our mission is to serve and celebrate community, connect people, strengthen families and promote inclusion, diversity, education and information. Our organization relies solely on sponsorship by businesses, fundraising and donations from the community.

Volunteer Program

It takes many volunteers to plan and execute an event of this size. Annually we receive assistance from anywhere between 75 to 100 student and adult volunteers. High School Students can even achieve an additional credit! If you are interested in helping, please complete volunteer application in the forms and applications tab.

What We Do

The Transcona Hi Neighbour Festival Inc. (THNFI) will be hosting its 61st year celebrating Transcona on June 5, 6, 7th 2026!

The THNFI is a non-profit organization made up of a volunteer Board of Directors. Our mission is to serve and celebrate community, connect people, strengthen families and promote inclusion, diversity, education and information. Our organization relies solely on sponsorship by businesses, fundraising and donations from the community. We are the largest community festival in the City of Winnipeg.

Our Focus

Our focus is to provide a community event which supports inclusion regardless of ethnicity, religion, age or economic position. All are welcome to enjoy this free event which includes:

Live children’s entertainment, face painting, balloon artistry, glitter tattoos, numerous mascots and Disney princesses and contests.
Friday night a Free Family Concert is enjoyed by all with Canadian Classic Rock acts. Centennial Square has seen past artists such as Lee Aaron, Streetheart, Harlequin, Honeymoon Suite and 2024’s Big Top Radio.
Toro Security professionals are present all weekend to ensure a safe and fun weekend for all!
Local food and merchandise vendors,
Select Shows provides a super fun selection of amusement games and rides including a train designed especially for the community of Transcona.
We are proud to provide public information booths promoting family health, safety, finances, etc. and to promote our local businesses

How to Apply

Interested in performing at the 2026 Hi Neighbour Festival? We invite local bands and artists to submit their applications for a chance to be featured in our exciting lineup. To apply, please email our Entertainment Director at jeff.thnfi@gmail.com with your band biography, a live performance video, and links to your music. Don’t forget to mention if you need a merchandise table. We can’t wait to hear from you!
